Naklo to Lipica - May 26

James and I both suffered jet lag and woke up at 3 am. We left the hotel around 4 am and drove out to Bled to check out the town. It is a beautiful as they say in all the guides. We got to watch the sun rise over the island and the mountains in the background.

We then headed back and had one of those wonderful European breakfasts and was on the road by 8 am. Traffic in LJU was pretty bad as they are doing construction (lots of construction here) and we passed a truck hauling cars where the back half burt up, cars and all.

James loves caving so we went to the Postonja Cave. It was pretty pricey at 18€ per person but worth it. We got to take a roller-coaster train ride into the mountain in through the cave. We then got out and walked around the cave and had a tour in English. There were at least 200 people on our one hour tour and they have about 10 tours a day. Slovenia is definately raking in the tourist money.

We then drove to Lipica. I have been dying to see the original stud farm where they first started breeding the famous Lipizzaner stallions. Lipica is at the top of a small mountain or large hill and overlooks all the other forested mountain/hills. There is just a hotel, resturant, pool and casino to go along with all the horse buildings. So is has a verz nice ambiance.
