James and I drove through beautiful mountains and into Serajevo. Hopefully there will be some movies coming out with theses landscapes. They are so natural and raw, but accessible.
In Serajevo we saw the corner where Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Sophi were assasinated. I have been wanting to see this spot for years. On my planned bike trip along the Danube I'll get to see the spot, Temes-Kubic, where the first shots were fired between the Austro-Hungarians and the Serbs armies, another step in WWI. After this, then all the countries with their secret treaties got pulled into the war.
We've spent the day shopping in the walking district. Everything is so, so inexpensive. James and I have been flying through the money and need to get a handle on how much we've really spent.
We walked through a cemetery where all the graves ended between 1992 and 1995. They were civilians who were killed by the Serbs from their high posts in the mountains. When driving in we saw tall apartment buildings with RPG (Rocket Propelled Gernade) blasts.
In the evening we walked around again. People really love to hit the streets and socialize in the evenings. Both in Mostar and here people treat every night of the week like a Saturday night.
